Our Story

After earning his electrical degree and gaining experience with a local contractor, the company’s founder spent several years working overseas as a civilian electrical contractor from 2006–2009. That experience exposed him to large-scale systems, advanced electrical work, and the importance of doing things right the first time.

Upon returning home, what began as occasional electrical work for friends and neighbors slowly turned into something more. Without a formal grand opening or launch date, Ten Kley Electric grew naturally through word-of-mouth, repeat clients, and a reputation for dependable work. By 2011, the business had become a full-time operation.

A pivotal moment came when a local cooperative began constructing multiple new grain storage facilities. Despite being a small operation at the time, Ten Kley Electric took the opportunity to bid the projects — and was awarded the work. Successfully completing those projects helped establish the company as a trusted electrical contractor for larger, more complex facilities and served as the springboard for continued growth.
